Shiny Pokemon

Eevee: May 2021
This Eevee shiny hunt was my longest hunt yet. I started this hunt July 2020 and it did not shine for me until May 2021. I put a LOT of time each month trying to get this shiny.
I evolved it into an Umbreon since that shiny is just so cool! I EV trained Umbreon in Defense and Special Defense. The moveset is also designed as a stalling Pokemon.

Beldum: October 25, 2019
Metagross is one of my favorite Pokemon and the shiny is in my top 5 favorites. This hunt surprisingly did not take too long when compared to the other hunts! I EV trained Metagross in Attack and HP to make it powerful. I will be forever annoyed that I hunted this Pokemon and Rayquaza on my Sapphire speed running save file. The trainer name says “A” instead of “Kevin”. Super sad haha.

Charmander: June 15, 2019
Started this hunt in my sophomore year in college. Was actually quite fast in comparison to my other soft resetting hunts. Shadow Charizard is one of my favorite shinies as it probably is for many other trainers. Red and black is my favorite 2 color combination so that only adds to why I love this shiny. I EV trained Charizard in Special Attack and Speed. While training Pokemon to level 100 and also shiny hunting Larvitar, I came across several shiny Pokemon!
Geodude: May 5 2019 (x2) (other date unknown)
Phanphy: May 29 2019
Meowth: June 30 2019

Rayquaza May 13, 2019
Shiny Rayquaza is my favorite Pokemon. I love the shadowy serpent like creature with yellow and red accents. It is difficult to describe how cool this Pokemon is to me. I decided that this had to be the first Pokemon I shiny hunt in the Gen 3 games. There is no shiny charm or ways to improve the odds, so I knew I had to hunt something that I would not want to give up on. I started shiny hunting Rayquaza around December 2018 (this is an estimate, I am not 100% sure). I decided to do a speed run in Sapphire to see how fast I can beat the game. Once I beat the Elite Four, I started my shiny hunting grind. I soft reseted Rayquaza for about 2 months until I learned that in Ruby/Sapphire, you cannot soft reset on a dead battery. As a reminder, you can encounter shinies in the wild, however not soft reset. After I learned this, I replaced my dead battery in Sapphire and continued my hunt. Only a short while later, Rayquaza shinied! I was shocked because it did not take long at all once I replaced the battery.

Failed Shiny Pokemon

Nidorinan: March 13, 2019
This was the second shiny to appear before I found a lucky egg! This was incredibly surprising because just the day before I encountered that shiny Exegcute. Back to back shinies is rare! This picture is really bad because I was sitting in a car with my friend going for a somewhat long ride. Sadly this Pokemon fled and I was not able to catch it. I really wanted a shiny Nidoking!
